Some limericks of mine

There was a wise girl from Abuja
Who never was known as a sponger
She worked harder and harder
Had food in the larder
And got married at last to a conjuror

There was a bright dove from Esher
Who flew all the way to Syria
She saw trouble and strife
Feared much for her life
So winged fast as she could to Croatia

A great writer named Dickens
Did not stop to count chickens
He wrote and he wrote
Was Liberal to vote
Now 'Twist' and 'Hard |Times' are no more than bookends!

There was a sharp lad from Lancaster
Who learned card games faster and faster
He liked parties and dancing
Fell in love in South Lancing
Then he became top dog at canasta
